Isadora May was established in early 2024, shortly after I gave birth to my beautiful daughter in late 2023. The days following her birth, the trauma, stress and unconditional love, I found myself lighting candles throughout the day and night to relieve the stress and anxiety from becoming a new mother.
During the long nights, I found myself thinking about creating my own brand of candles that were pure and focused on wellbeing, in a sustainable and creative way.
As a former Design and Technology secondary teacher I have always had a creative background and therefore have been able to utilise this skill to create my own brand, logo, packaging, manufacturing process and best of all, beautifully scented pure essential oil candles.
Sustainability and doing what I can to help save our planet is an integral part of my personal ethos, branding and products. All our candle pots are handmade by myself in my home studio using a concrete based material; therefore your pots are to be reused time and time again - best of all, they are designed for use inside and outside.
All my waxes come in a refill format, designed specifically for our pots. Using a plant-based wax, coconut and rapeseed; it is vegan, cruelty free, biodegradable and completely free from paraffin, and synthetic additives. Rapeseed oil comes from the rapeseed flower, which means it burns longer and more slowly. Rapeseed wax also produces less soot and releases more fragrance when burned, resulting in a stronger hot throw and more consistent scent.
Essential oils are entirely natural products with natural scents. They are obtained from plant extracts or other natural sources via distillation. They are considered the ‘essence’ of a natural material; often containing the strongest impression of a plant’s scent or benefits. These natural substances contain chemical compounds that can be used to promote wellness benefits. They have been used to treat physical and mental ailments for thousands of years across many different cultures and are scattered throughout international medical history; therefore making them my go to choice for my candle blends.
All my candles are blended and hand-poured by myself and I will regularly update the scents to match the seasons and with the aim to keep you calm and stress free!
